Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes. It’s free, fun, and easy—and it helps the birds.  This year’s GBBC will be during “Presidents’ Day” weekend, February 15–18, 2008. To learn more about this fun activity, the Riverside Nature Center will be hosting a program by local Mater Naturalist and Birder Tom Collins at 10 to 11 am on Saturday February 2.  Participants count birds anywhere for as little or as long as they wish during the four-day period. They tally the highest number of birds of each species seen together at any one time.
